(In regards to what inspired the album) The Cantina Band from the Star Wars bar scene? [laughs] It was really important for us to do something that sounded a little bit rawer, more excitable. Higher energy. To me, Merriweather has this more mellow atmosphere; the pace and tempos on this one are a lot quicker. We just wanted to do a lot of jammers, and not a lot of ambient, spacey stuff. It was nice to take a break from that.
